Why I Created BuildingYourGrit.com

If you’ve found your way to this site, you may be wondering why I created it. The answer is simple: I believe that if you want to not only survive in life, but to reach levels that extend beyond your wildest dreams, you have to dig as deep as you can to find the strength and character necessary to continue your trek forward.

You have to find your grit.

I’ve found myself in this predicament over and over again. I’ve felt pushed down, knocked around, and many times just wanted to give up. I was willing to accept that “this is as good as it gets” and decided to no longer pursue my dreams.

I’ve been through divorce, the loss of loved ones, a major career change (from law enforcement to the owner of a freelance writing service), multiple cross-country moves, and struggling with a self-esteem so low that it contributed to me making some rather poor decisions in my life. Decisions that involved drinking too much, settling for the wrong men, and selling myself short professionally.

So many times, I tried to be strong, and I failed. I tried to push myself, and I gave up. I tried to remember that I had something to offer the world, and then I quickly dismissed it.

I lost my grit.

Fortunately, through perseverance, determination, educating myself, and a whole lot of faith, I’ve been able to get up, brush myself off, and find my grit once again. Now, I want to help others do the same.

I want to help you dig deeper when the going gets tough so you find the grit that is within you…the grit that can help you achieve all of your reach-for-the-stars goals (and more!).

I want to help you build your grit!

So, feel free to take a look around BuildingYourGrit.com and read the posts you need to see today to help you in areas where you are currently struggling.
